Bio

Ann Hunkins has been working in fine art and news photography since 1992. She lived in Nepal for five years, and her photographic portraits of Nepali writers won the Willard Van Dyke Grant with the New Mexico Council on Photography. She is also also a prize-winning poet, video artist and translator of Nepali literature and a former Fulbright Grantee to Nepal with an M.A. in Poetry at the University of California at Davis. She served in Nepal as a United Nations interpreter for torture victims and war crimes witnesses in 2006, and received a National Endowment for the Arts Translation Grant in 2008.
